>>>I just had to buy a bottle of purple catsup/ketchup...for fun. And now we can buy blue and pink 'squirt-able' margarine.....
YUCK!<<<

the LA TIMES had a fascinating article about the whole coloured ketchup trend that was many pages long about four or five years ago..it highlighted the work of a a botanist who specliaised in rare tomatos who had been hired by Del Monte to try and help them come up with get this.., Banana Ketchup. When that flopped, they said, okay, no bananas, just Yellow Ketchip and when that flopped, the guy had a whole test planting of yellow heirloom tomotoes and nobody to eat them. He wound up marketing them here in southern california where they have become quite popular.   the article was an amazinf thing to read... the guy was like the Indian Jones of tomatoes.

RE: weird dayglo food. locally Motts has several sick colours of apple suace like Nuclear Green ( or maybe it's Shrek Green) and some very disturbing purple as well as something I can only describe as an evil puce.
