I went to a beginner songwriting class tonight, and was told that in order to write songs professionally, the verses 'must' rhyme throughout the song. When I write songs, if a verse happens to rhyme, that's fine. However, I don't try to craft verses to rhyme with others. I want to write folk songs professionally, and I'm wondering if I must follow the songwriting rule I was given tonight. How do you go about writing songs? Yours, Cassie
