Well, here's a true story about my philosophy professor at Oakland University in Michigan in the early 1970s. his name was named Richard Brooks (you can look it up--he used to love to tell the tale): When he was in the Navy he corresponded with a librarian at the Theosophical Society library, who would send him books to read. He fell in love with her through their letters. When he completed his service he travelled to the Theosophy headquarters in Illinois to meet her. He discovered that she was at least 2 decades older-- it might have been 3; I can't remember. Anyway, they got married and were very happy together. They endured a lot of criticism at the time. M.
