Biphobia is the antipathy bisexuals get from the lesbian and gay communities. It ranges from mild ridicule to severe derision and complete exclusion. (The antipathy bisexuals get from the straight community is just plain old fashioned homophobia.) Holly Near and Joan Baez were on the receiving end of biphobia, particularly from lesbians, when it became know that each was bi. Holly had previously been thought of as lesbian and Joan as straight, so each was viewed somewhat differently. Joan was perceived as a coward who just couldn't face her homosexuality, while Holly was seen as a traitor to her sisters. In both instances, however, the sentiment was the same.
