Moyers is an old, frustrated man and can't decide what he believes. Otherwise, good point Q. Why would give me pause much more that Moyers is several of you posters. My first instinct was to think "what are they afraid of?" If one has made up her/his mind as to their belief status, then why not stick with it. Unless, you did not do adequate self examination coupled with the required research and need to pull others into your wavering belief system so as to feel that you are where you want to be. Simply my opinion.
