Spot on Tim. One of the biggest influences has been the revolution in education, putting all the emphasis on academic results in the core curriculum, and making headmasters into managers of the finances of their schools. What this has done is to make the heads concentrate all the money into the areas where they are accountable by results, and sport is no part of that. So there are many schools selling off their playing fields to finance e.g. a new maths department and so on. Bloody government again! cheers, Terry (come back John O'Rourke and give us a goal!)
