I always thought that 'Soccer' was a word used by the upper classes in England to from Rugger, I didn't realise it was invented in Ireland. I don't like using the word because the most popular team sport in the world is known by the world as 'football' and although soccer is an english word it sounds american to me! By the way when was the last time you went to an English league footy game. I can't say I have seen any hooliganism for a long long time.
