GUEST,PMO Whatever Happened to William Zantzinger?Obit1-09 (158* d) RE: Whatever Happened to William Zantzinger? 28 Dec 06

This is all supposition and hearsay learned in bits and pieces from my mother who later told me to stop dredging up old tales about the family. Her tone of voice and accompanying facial expressions lead me to believe all the gossip I overheard from the whispering in my family (an old Baltimore Society family that took part in events like the Emerson Hotel tragedy). It seems that my most cherished and beloved uncle,a lawyer and thoroughbred horse breeder out in Howard County,in his early thirties when Zantzinger was 24, took Zantzinger out to his farm to "protect" him from all the hubub caused by the "bogus" charges and in reality obstructed the search for him by hiding him for several days in hopes it would blow over. Not that any of these society people had anything to worry about once the fix was in at the courthouse. I also noticed that WZ's middle name was Devereux. I wasn't stupid.....I had cousins whose last name was Devereux...."must be a coincidence" Ma said with her eyes focusing on the far away nowhere.

I think it was at that moment I decided to change heroes...thanks Bob.
