Notwithstanding, you have my deepest sympathies. One of my grandmothers was a Bernardo child, and the best woman I ever knew. I was in the military when she died, living over 1000 miles away. My mother didn't tell me that she had died, I only found out when my sister sent me the funeral service some time after the fact. When I questioned my mother why she hadn't informed me immediately she said because I knew you would try to make it to the funeral. Damn right I would have made it to her funeral and money would have been no object. There is tough and there is dirty, it has been my experience that women can't tell the difference. I never forgave my mother for that along with a hell of a lot more. Try not to make her mistakes ladies, dirty is not tough.
