I had a most unsatisfactory reply citing low listening figures (but no evidence), niche market and overlap with the MH show plus some vague implications about the future. Wrote back to ask whether the station supported community arts at all, whether they had a commitment to local community and to urge them to reinstate events diary, poet, twangfest and play of real folk music and non-mass produced stuff... No further reply.... yet. Let's keep the pressure on. Anyone out there who ever listened, had your event listed, or your CD played, please tell Sarah Drummond@bbc.co.uk and Sandie.Dunleavy@bbc.co.uk that the late lamented North Yorkshire Folk was terrific and should be restored, not 'replaced' with something else available elsewhere and with no connection to Yorkshire.
