Bubblyrat - Sorry, you have the wrong story. It actually originated from the time a Swiss mountaineer arrived home to find his wife hastily dressing and the bed in disarray. He ran to the door and called loudly, "Who diddled my lady". And the answer came back, "I diddled your lady". Then from afar came a second voice, "I diddled your lady too". Sorry, I couldnt resist
