Sheelanagig release their second album 'Baba Yaga's Ball' tomorrow, and are on tour for the next month. Recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studio, the album features 10 tracks of our best celtic-gypsy-prog-ska-folk business. Daily Planet banjo player Leon Hunt joins the band on two numbers, 'The Canny Man' and the bhangra-meets-hot-club stomp 'Soup With a Fork'. A former student of Bela Fleck, he has been described by fRoots as "the Jeff Beck of the banjo". You can hear two tracks from the album here: http://www.myspace.com/sheelanagigUK These are the latest UK and Irish tour dates: May Wed 16th The Bell - Bath Thu 17th Seven Stars - Totnes Fri 18th Ludlow Assembly Rooms - Shropshire Sat 19th Wheaton Aston Festival - Staffordshire Sun 20th Shepley Spring Festival - Yorkshire Tue 22nd Square & Compass - Worth Matravers, Dorset Wed 23rd Talking Heads - Southampton Thu 24th Album Launch @ Trinity - Bristol Fri 25th Performance Room, Liverpool Sat 26th Trades Club - Hebden Bridge Mon 28th The Railway, Saddleworth Wed 30th The Blues Bar - Harrogate Thu 31st Sleepers - Huddersfield June Sat 2-Mon 4th Dublin Docklands Festival Thu 7th Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Cork Sat 23-Sun 24th Glastonbury Festival Hope nobody minds the gig-spam - any comments from discerning mudcatters would be most welcome!
