GUEST,Chris Foster Interested in Icelandic Folk Music? (UK) (7) Interested in Icelandic Folk Music? 05 Jun 07

Just In case anyone has been wondering what I'm doing these days, I thought I'd draw attention to the tour I'll be doing in England and Wales this month. As one 1/2 of FUNI a duo with my partner the great Icelandic traditional singer Bára Grímsdóttir, I´ll be playing in folk clubs and the like. Our repertoire is a mix of trad songs and some new ones from Iceland and England accompanied with Guitar, Kantele, Langspil and Icelandic fiðla. Maybe because of it´s relative isolation and small population, Iceland´s trad song has been largely overlooked, which is a great shame because it is very rich, varied and beautiful. If you are interested in hearing for yourselves, this is our tour schedule. You can also check us out on myspace.com/funireykjavik and myspace.com/chrisfosterfolk
