Once you sign up, there is a website with loads of advice - e.g. how to write press releases, book venues etc etc. Last year they also offered a mentoring service, with people from the music industry volunteering their advice for free, and of course logos and arwtwork to use in your publicity. I wish I'd found out about all that a bit earlier, will definately go through it in more detail this year. There is very much an 'every little helps' approach. They ask that you put out oxfam leaflets/ have a stall, but don't insist on it. The only complication I had was making sure we stuck to guidelines for collecting money, which anyone collecting for a charity has to stick to anyway.
