In 1972 -- 35 Years ago -- I was a student at Dawson College and got a small budget from the student government to create a folk music concert series. Among the performers who played the Dawson series were such notables as Utah Phillips, Malvina Reynolds, John Allan Cameron, Jean Carignan, Michael Cooney, Jesse Winchester and many others. But the very FIRST performer I invited to open the series was Bruce Murdoch. Then, in 1974, when I took over running the Golem, the Montreal coffeehouse/folk club, the first performer I invited to play there, and the first performer who did play there in my tenure, was again Bruce Murdoch. Shortly after I started doing the radio show -- almost 14 years ago now -- I told Bruce I wanted him to come on the show. I'm so glad it's finally happening. I've really missed Bruce and his songs over the past too many years. I hope I can get a space near the front for his Ormstown concert. Mike Regenstreif
