Just a suggestion Folks, You are attempting to reproduce a recipe that has been around for over 70 years..... BEFORE chemicals It was made in Louisiana in the early 1900's..... Think BASIC and go from there in your attempts to reproduce this wonderful product. Low and SLOW cooking with flavors found at the time....think about it. Heck, the secret may actually be alligator poo or crab roe for all we know. Have fun
