Reminded me of my year working in Nome. The local bar owner was trying to quit smoking, so therefore allowed no smoking in his bar. Folks would huddle outside by the lamp post in sub-zero temps to light up. My cousin visited from London, and on seeing so many obvious "street people" outside a pub, remarked that there must be quite the call (forgive the pun) for prostitution in Alaska.
