Thank you PTin Texas! I called my sister and now she believes me that there really was the verse that ended "hurry home or a gnome will thump a lump upon your dome". For years on Halloween we would call each other and sing that first verse of the song and then at the end I'd put in the part about the gnome and she always accused me of making that up. I am redeemed. Thank you from Wisconsin.
