MUSIC AND MORE PARTICULARLY RHYTHM THEORY IS USEFUL. LEARNING TO MINIM, CROTCHET, QUAVER AND SEMI-QUAVER TRIPLETS (WITH CAPACITY TO PLAY ACCENTS ON ANY NOTE) IS FUNDAMENTAL. SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT YOU SHOULD FEEL THE RHYTHM AND NOT UNDERSTAND YOU NOTES AND GROOVES IN A SYSTEMATIC WAY. I DO NOT. LEARN WHAT MAKES UP YOUR RHYTHMS (THE ALPHABET) AND YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN (WORDS) AND GROOVES (PHRASES) AND TELL YOUR OWN STORIES (AND PASS THEM ON TO OTHERS USING EMAIL).
