Just came from a Beltaine celebration yesterday. Its an annual tradition. Held on the country estate of a fiddle playing archaelogy prof. and attended by many musicians, morris dancers, and many pagan type characters. etc. It begins with a mini play followed by the Quest in which you walk through the woods and interact with characters from the play (this year was Pandora's box) There is the planting of the maypole (Im sure there is a meaning there) followed by the dance. There is also a fire to jump over. Interspersed with music and good food, and good folks. A great time had by all.
