hi there I'm joe Turner, Dave Turner's son. I've been told a lot about this song and how it was written by him and used by many others. I have two versions by him kicking about. both have same lyrics but one has a more detailed tune. Dave turner who also wrote the robin hood ballad, british bobby (both sung by Fred Wedlock), the farting song, ballad of cosmic ray, Ban the Bow and more. you can contact me on joe@rescuerooms.com and I can put you in contact for his cd and other information
