Apart from many fond memories of late night sings in the Moor & Coast tent, the Bansley YMCA, the Redcar Rugby Club changing rooms and dozens more, I heard Bella Hardy, one of the best of the new generation of singers, say in a radio interview that one of her influences was "the late sing at Stainsby Festival with Theresa Tooley". There's no greater compliment in the folk world than having carried the tradition to the next generation. Richard.
