As one of the reprobates of the Warburton Soulers,(I must declare my interest!) I can only concur with John's analysis of this event.... From the little I recall of last year's do (the part barrel was not left by me)it was a fun-filled, poetry-packed, musically magnificent bash...... with the serious overtone of the maintenance of a very old Cheshire tradition,the Souling Play, which I consider in the same light as,and to be of the same importance as, the folk music tradition.
