Not sure what the process with Kosher is but Halal meat has its throat cut and left to bleed to death. The animals can sense the terror of the second to be killed and this terror runs through the whole group. Dont be under the illusion that they kill them separately, my sister in law is a moslem living in Damascus and has first hand knowledge of this practice.

No kinder than the 'conventional' method of slaughter, where animals are 'supposed' to be stunned first.
