SharonA Happy Thanksgiving... (48) RE: Happy Thanksgiving... 27 Nov 09

I'm thankful that I was able to spend time with some family members yesterday. Thankful to the planners and funders (including us taxpayers!) of the highways I used in my one-hour-plus drive over the river and through the woods. Thankful to the other drivers for not hitting me on the way there and back, especially the driver of the yellow Mustang convertible who was on my tail and then barely missed me as he swerved around me in the non-passing lane! (I would have pulled into the slower lane for him, if he had given me a chance to!)

Thankful to my brother and sister-in-law for inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner, and thankful to my sister-in-law for cooking it -- yummm! Not so thankful to them for exposing me to my three-year-old great-niece's cold (she and my great-nephew and their mother, my niece, live with my bro and sis-in-law), but thankful to them for making the attempt to keep her away from everyone else for the most part. Thankful to my other niece and her husband for being there with their 5-year-old daughter, though she was doing her best to misbehave and drive her mother and grandmother to yelling at her. Thankful to my sis-in-law's 89-year-old father for not saying anything obnoxious this time, as is his wont.

Thankful most of all for the ability to take my leave of the whole noisy, tense situation and go home to the peace and quiet of living alone with my two cats... with some leftovers to eat today!

Peace to all,
Sharon
