Oh, now I know what you're talking about. From that sound clip, it sounds like a cittern of which the article said it is a forerunner. A little deeper than a mandolin, but along the same lines. I don't play one, and until today, I'd never heard of the instrument. I do have a friend in Vancouver who plays the cittern and/or the bouzouki. They're very popular with Celtic musicians these days. |
