If you like the Bonzo Dog Doo Band (or their various alternative names) you'd love the Cliquot Club Eskimos. Harry Reiser, plectrum banjoist extraordinaire was the leader and they were probably the hottest novelty band of the twenties. They were sponsored by Cliquot Club beverages. Many years ago, I ought a cassette of their music which I just ran across today. I'd missplaced it for years. What a hoot. I can even here where Spike Jones got som of his ideas (they have one instrumental where a dog barks on cue for the one note pitched perfectly to his bark. When I couldn't find my cassette, I bought a CD of the Cliquot Club Eskimos and it was a major dissapointment. It was a reunion recording and they had none of the spark of the originals. A while back, I promised someone that if I found the cassette, I'd transfer it to CD and share a copy with him. Might it have been Will Fly, as in Have Plane, Will Fly? It will take a few days before I transfer the tracks to CD, but I want to do it before I lose the cassette again. Anyone else ever heard of the Cliquot Club Eskimos? Jerry
