I've heard from his family that Geoff has passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95, and they were happy for me to post the news on this forum. Geoff was a major figure in the English folk music scene for many years (many will remember him for his work at Halsway Manor) and was awarded the EDFS Gold Badge a few years ago. For me he was a man who wore his great learning very lightly and who was simply one of the kindest people I have ever met -- it was a privilege to have known him. Rest in peace Geoff.
