"The United Kingdom of Great Britain etc exists as a political entity from 1707. The United Kingdom of England and Scotland dates from 1603 despite the various hiccups." Again though simply not the case. There was no entity called the United Kingdom of England and Scotland. England and Scotland remained two seperate kingdoms who shared a monarch in a personal regal union despite what James VI would have liked.
