As Tim hinted, Carpenter's texts are in the process of being edited for eventual publication and I'm working on the maritime materials. The originals have been digitized by the Library of Congress and will, at some time, be publicly available through the Performing Arts Encyclopedia portion of the Library of Congress website. You can be sure that we'll let the world know when this goes live! One of the issues with the collection, hinted at above, has to do with intellectual property. These issues are being raised not only by folks at the Library of Congress but by the UK-based Carpenter Project team of which I'm a member. Carpenter sold the collection to LoC in 1972 so ultimately, they will make the decisions about dissemination. Part of the pleasure of working on the project has been to collaborate with the descendants of Carpenter's contributors - the BBC programmes being lovely examples. It is an extraordinary collection and I'm honored to have the chance to work with it.
