And 999, fair point, but the dictionary makes no mention of male sluts in it's definition either and there was no assumption being made... I have only ever heard it used perjoratively against women slut [slVt] noun 1 a dirty slatternly woman 2 an immoral woman 3 (Archaic) a female dog [C14: of unknown origin] *sluttish adjective *sluttishly adverb *sluttishness noun Personally I have never heard slut used against a man except in some way some would call humour and it usually refers to their rakishness or cad like behaviour.
