Joe, you are being unduly generous to Fr. Andrew Greeley, his proofreading is not poor, it's atrocious, I gave up reading his books some years ago because of all the mistakes, and for someone who apparently visited Ireland regularly he seemed to see it as it was about two or three generations ago. An extraordinary proportion of the people seem to speak Gaelic, even in Dublin. His characters always seemed to fly from the US to Ireland via London instead of going direct to Shannon or Dublin, and even though they were only in transit they often had some sort of a run-in with British Customs or Immigration. I could go on, but what's the point.
