Bobert-- I'm just learning to forage edible mushrooms (not remotely interested in the "funny" kind, just gourmet edibles I can sell and eat myself). I realize conditions are different between Maine and your neck of the woods, but could you tell me in what conditions you generally find morels? Here, I've heard people say to look around old apple trees or in recently-burned areas.

P.S. I do know about false morels-- Don't worry, I won't eat anything unless I check with an expert or two and some reliable guidebooks first.
