The Fooles Troupe Tech: Copyright Rules According to YouTube (6) RE: Tech: Copyright Rules According to YouTube 17 Apr 11

"Bearing in mind that copyright is jurisdictional and so differs in each jurisdiction WHICH copyright law?"

This is an interesting point here in Australia. We used to have our own - but under political US pressure, we signed an agreement that we would 'respect the US Law'... pity they don't respect ours as a certain Mr Hicks would say if he hadn't been legally gagged....

It's even more ironic, especially now that the US is annoyed with China for 'not respecting US copyright'. Some time ago, the US refused to acknowledge UK copyright, which is why Charles Dickens had to travel personally to the USA for a 'speaking tour' to read his own work, because US publishers were ripping off his royalties by printing US versions of his UK copyrighted big selling books...

Australia ruled that the cosy publisher deals that forbade imports of books according to mumbo jumbo that said that certain editions could not be imported in to Australia was an illegal restriction of trade here.
