The Cropper Lads was the first song I ever heard sung in a folk club. Les Pope's Saddletree Folk Club at The White Horse, Ripon in 1966. Sung, not coincidentally, by The Cropper Lads. The Cropper Lads for me, And bonny lads they be. With lusty stroke the shear frames broke. The Cropper Lads for me!
