REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR RIVER MUSIC CAMP

WHO: Legendary acoustic musicians Joe Craven, Keith Little, Dorian Michael, Hawkeye Herman, Chris Stuart, Janet Beasley and six other world-class music instructors

WHAT: Four days of acoustic music instruction, performance opportunities, jamming, song circles and more in a breathtaking outdoor setting in the heart of California's beautiful gold country. An opportunity to study guitar, ukulele, upright bass, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, Dobro and vocals in a variety of genre. Traditional and contemporary bluegrass, folk, blues, pop, Hawaiian, Tin Pan Alley, and swing are some of the styles available to study and enjoy. Improvisation, rhythm, songwriting, performance and jamming are just some of the other popular options beyond instrument technique.

WHEN: Sunday afternoon, July 31 to Thursday morning, August 4, 2011.

WHERE: River Music Camp (formerly American River Acoustic Music Camp) is held at the American River Resort in Coloma, California. American River Resort is a first class campground on the banks of the South Fork of the American River, approximately 45 minutes from Sacramento, California and two hours from Reno, Nevada. 6019 New River Road, Coloma, California, 95613.

WHY: River Music Camp offers a gateway to rewarding – and sometimes life-changing – experiences for beginners, as well as advanced instruction for accomplished musicians. River Music Camp is guided by the principle that anybody can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and make music confidently with other people. The unique story and abilities inherent in all people are honored and nourished, with instructors skilled at helping everyone find their own musical path.

HOW: Visit http://www.rivermusiccamp.com/ for on-line registration. Tuition is $375 for adults 18 years and over; $250 for young adults aged 14 through 17; $130 for children aged 13 and under. Musicians ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All classes and camping are included in one reasonable price. Optional catered meal package is $100 per person and includes Sunday welcome dinner, three meals per day Monday through Wednesday, and farewell breakfast Thursday morning.
