My dear Gargoyle; I think you may have misunderstood me. I wasn't actually looking for a copy of "David Copperfield" but trying to illuminate the task of searching for texts in libraries from the UK (in response to Jim Dixon's conjecture on this subject above). As he suggests, you have to give the country first before you can do any search using a post code. The search is not thereby restricted to UK libraries but incidently yields the distance in miles from your home location of the nearest copy of any text should you wish to undertake the journey. Being previously unfamiliar with Worldcat myself and perhaps not an "educated searcher" by your standards, but merely a humble seeker wishing to better myself, I thought I would contribute my experience, out of the innocent desire to assist others on the same journey. Perhaps I should have spelt out my intentions at greater length as you do not seem to have grasped my point.
