Richard. That was just about the finest summing up of the "traveller" problem I've ever come across. The nomadic life of travellers comes slap bang against that of settled society and because they incovenience us, they are the ones who have to get out of the way. A pity no-one ever stopped to consider how much the ways of settled society, including the enclosure of common land and the consequent lack of camping places, inconvenienced the travellers.
