".*" (dot star) is a useful and easy one to know - match any sequence of characters, including nothing. So "so.*oy" would find "sooy", "Soldier's Joy", "Soldiers Joy", "Souldier Joy", "so muttermutter oy!", and anything else that has an "so" and then an "oy". Handy for dodging the possibility of variant spellings, see ? I've just tried it on John's Tunefinder, and it seems to find a lot of other stuff too, including things I wouldn't have expected. Oh well.
