I know the clip that Lizzie means. They were singing "Pharoah's army got drownded" (Is it called "Mary don't you weep"? - that may help you find it, Lizzie) and no-one moved or even smiled. I just assumed that's how folk clubs were in the 1950s! I've gone deaf in one ear and am really worried about damaging the other one so have to put my finger in my ear now. I think that's probably worse than earplugs and I feel very awkward about doing it. But it's either that or never see the Saw Doctors again.
