Is anyone able to assist with identifying the Irish song sung towards the end of Episode 4 of the 5-part BBC series The Story of Ireland (presented by Fergal Keane)? It is sung unaccompanied by a woman in a pub in Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry and is featured in the background to a discussion between presenter Fergal Keane and a pub patron on the status of the Irish language in the late 19th century. A title for the song would be a great help…a set of lyrics and any other information about the song would be even better! Go raibh míle maith agaibh! – Peadar (as an Astráil)
