My late dad, Noel Purcell was honoured with a Late Late Show at Xmas '73. Cecil Sheridan, Eddie Byrne and Pauline Forbes were guests, with Sean Mooney coming out of the audience to sing with Peggy Dell at the piano.

Cecil did a great parody of 'My Way" . It started off with his usual intro as the henpecked husband:

(Oh, the woman I have married
She is driving me insane........)

Well I got home in friday night,
Collapsed upon the floor,
while the wife was playing Bingo
with the man who lived next door.
The doctor came, examined me
and this is what he said
It's a case of Malnutrition
Pretty soon you will be Dead........

And now, the end is near
She's pulled the blinds and drawn the curtains
she said, its very clear,
your liver's shot, gone for a burton.

and when the man comes 'round next Friday,
