Some of the FB emails I used to get had an "unsubscribe" address - sometimes this was just a matter of clicking a link, other ones just printed the URL which I then had to copy & paste. I must have done this about twenty or thirty times before the email notifications ceased. (Fingers crossed!) Even without those, I found that one FB "friend" was making me suffer his postal diarrhea - sometimes posting twenty to thirty photographs per hour (!). Most people set up albums for photographs which is fine, you can look at as many or as few as you choose, but this guy was posting every single one separately. I didn't want to offend by "unfriending" or requesting a change in habit. But there is a way of defining what posts arrive on your screen from particular people. Bring up your friend's page (Wall/Timeline/whatever they're calling it today) and click on the "Friends" button. A drop-down menu then offers various options - click on the "(tick) Show on News Feed" line to make the tick disappear - et voila, no more posts/notifications. You can still message as before. If you don't want postings to disappear completely, click the "settings" line to fine-tune. Ross
