I feel it's time to be a bit more specific about the Cinderford Festival. For a start it is not a FOLK festival, although there were folk-ish acts among the (last year) 52 acts over the two days. I have a friend who plays in a ukulele band and they performed at the 2013 Festival (not this year as they were already performing elsewhere). They - like all the other acts - were not paid...............however, every performer received a voucher for food & drink. The public paid nothing to enter. There were three stages, plus a bouncy castle, face painting etc etc As far as one can tell from reports - a good time was had by all.
