Mississippi John Hurt fans! The St. James Baptist Church in Avalon, Mississippi is in great danger of being demolished. St. James is a vital location to the Mississippi John Hurt story, and preserving it will entail moving the entire church to a location near the MJH museum. If MJH's music has touched your life at all, please consider making a donation. If you check out the link below, you will find a video history of the Church, and an explanation of what the Foundation is doing to prevent its destruction.
