It was a full house. Deb and Tom provided a beautiful spread and their equally warm and beautiful home. Kendall and Jacqui opened after Singing Through the Hard Times. The audience joined in on every chorus. Carrying Nelson Home, Miners' Lullaby, Where in the World Have the Old Songs Gone?. Not a dry eye in the house. Dan performed with autoharp, banjo and guitar. His playing is amazing. Most of the songs were from his new CD, The Promise of the Sowing - a keeper. Now is the Cool of the Day by Jean Ritchie, The Promise of the Sowing, Doney Girl {great chorus}, Aint No More Cane on the Brazos (Texas work song),and more. There were a number of requests as well as Queen of the Rails ( and some more tears). I hated to see the night end. Many thanks to the Coward family and to Jacqui, Kendall and Dan.
