Probably most songs (and poems, novels, etc.) about strong feelings have been written in a sober state of mind - whether for money, for fun, or for a broad desire to do good, or other reasons in arbitrary combination. Good songs can be written by bad people. We all know examples of successful songs that sound purely commercial. These are bad songs by definition.
