Dick Boak is the one who supplied the Martin guitars for the film in the first place, so of course he is in on it. Don't forget that this is publicity for Martin, too. Don't forget also that companies like Martin typically pay large amounts of money for product placement in major motion pictures, which "Hateful Eight" which has grossed $130 million worldwide, certainly is.
