Much as I like the idea of Ingonish, I seriously doubt it has any connection. Has anyone ever heard of Ingonish being shortened to 'Ingo'? It doesn't seem natural - the "o" is muted in the usual pronunciation of Ingonish: ING-guh-NISH. Furthermore, I think the writer/singer would have been trying for something that seemed a little more 'exotic'. |
