There has been a meme going around on facebook -- a portrait of Mr. Willis Carrier with an appreciation of his inventing the Air Conditioner. inventor of air conditioning 1902 I have also seen statements that credit the airconditioner for destroying the former traditions of evening front porch sitting, neighbors strolling in the cool of the day, iced tea sipping and the bonds and connections gained from such activities.
